Enzo’s Pizzeria

February 22, 2008

We recently got one of those menu’s in our mailbox from Enzo’s Pizzeria. Their selection is incredible, but how is the food? Curiosity got the better of me tonight so we decided to order from there. Extreme exhaustion negated the idea of making something at home or even going out to eat. It was a no-brainer to have the food delivered!

Hot Antipasto for the app, Broccoli Rabe & Sausage with ziti for him, and a Turkey Club salad for me.

They said about 30 minutes, but it came in like 20 minutes. I was shocked, but pleased it came so quick. My large salad contained quite a lovely variety of vegetables — broccoli, carrots, cauliflower (!!), black and green olives, tomatoes, cucumbers — in addition to the rolled lunch meat turkey and bacon. I asked for honey mustard dressing, but it came with balsamic dressing. The fact they included TWO loaves of crusty white bread made up for the dressing error in my eyes. We don’t really eat white bread, but what the heck. Once in a while won’t kill us. ;)

The app came with fried clams, mussels, fried calamari, stuffed eggplant, a piece of veal, and a mozzarella stick soaked in marinara sauce! Nothing to rave about, but certainly welcome when you’re tired and hungry. After eating most of the app, he couldn’t even eat half of his Broccoli Rabe & Sausage. I sampled a bit and while certainly not a gourmet meal it certainly hit the spot.

I’ll give them 3 stars – for quick delivery, large portions, and the crusty bread!

  1. Enzo’s is great – their food is consistantly above average. They have a dining room in the back of the place and I know that they were planning to try going white tablecloth and live dinner music on Fri and Sat nights.

Another place that’s kind of a nice surprise is the little pizzaria next to the Starbuck’s on Broad St. Looks like nothing more than a take-out place, but they have a lovely dining room in the back and they never rush you out. Mediocre salads but interesting entres. BYOB.

  2. We ate at Enzo’s for the first time this past Saturday night, and I was really impressed with the food and service. Our waitress brought us not one, but two glasses of sangria on the house. The prices were more than reasonable. The entree portions were huge and included warm bread and salad. The penne a la vodka was delicious, and my husband raved about his veal marsala. While the decor is not the most dazzling, the live music created a fun and romantic atmosphere. We hope to eat there again soon!
